How would I summon a snowball facing and moving the direction of the player?

Multi tool use
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ margin-bottom:0;
}
I've been trying to summon a snowball with a forward motion that is facing the direction of a player when an item is clicked. I can't get it to work, but this is what I have so far:
execute at @p[team=purpleteam] run summon snowball ~ ~1 ~ {Motion:[1.0,0.0,0.0]}
It always shoots one direction.

Oh I had a lot of problems with this...here's a link to my solution. gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/349008/… It's a function but chained command blocks should work as well.
